is a scripture in Matthew 5 and 16.
you’ve probably heard it if not it reads
let your light so shine before men
that they may see your good works and
glorify your father in Heaven
this scripture is so important because
I have a feeling that there are women in
this room
who have been under attack
and while you think the attack is about
maybe your finances maybe you think it’s
about your marriage and relationships I
want to submit to you that maybe just
maybe the attack is on your lights
maybe you have been in the darkest
season in your life because the enemy is
trying to Snuff out your light and I
think it’s so important that we have
even a little girl singing This Little
Light of Mine because some of you got
attacked when you were little girls
where the enemy said if I could snuff
out her light right now then maybe she
won’t experience the goodness of the
Lord but I came to serve notice on hell
that This Little Light of Mine it may be
broken it may be bruised but This Little
Light of Mine I’m gonna let that bad boy
shine it may have to shine with tears in
my eyes it may have to shine while they
walk away from me but This Little Light
of Mine

bones something happens and I gotta let

that I’m really big on
is hospitality
and making certain that everybody feels

Holy Spirit has already done that
and I’m grateful for him for doing that
but do you not know some 27 years ago
when we moved to Dallas
lady Kathy Hayes
was in this Green Room in this huge
Arena
for the National Day of Prayer
and may West Virginia walked in Texas
Green Room thinking
how in the world
did somebody like me
get in a room
like this
and she
welcomes me
she told me some of the things to expect
and she told me some of the things to
avoid
but I was reminded of the scripture that
his word is a lamp
and to my feet and a light into my
pathway
real nice until I found out that they
wore little ankle lamps in the Bible
days
that would illuminate not the entire
path
but one step

at a time
it didn’t show you the whole road
but every little step that you take his
word
was a lamp
said Don’t Step there don’t step here
Walk This Way Walk This Way
but in hospitality
in the Bible days
it meant that when you enter the room
somebody would kneel down
take off your shoes
not knowing where you’d walked
didn’t know the path that you taken
and the first thing they would do
is wash
your feet
to welcome you
into an atmosphere that you know Wise
would ever be able to go

for the little old lady
that passed everybody
in Luke
look it up
she stepped by everybody
because she realized
that the Savior
was in the room
they were talking about what she did
who she’d been with
the road she’d walked the dirt she’d
been through
but you know what she bypassed all of
those hottie people that had never done
anything in their lives
that had never walked through dirt
that did not know what it was like to
walk in a room that you weren’t welcome
in
and you want to know what sister is
she knelt
if I didn’t have bad knees several nil
down for me

at the feet of Jesus
she knew that he was the most important
person
in the whole room
that knew every little step she’d taken
every little dirty path she taken
and she didn’t care about the biggity
bigs that were in the room because she
knew that if anybody
was Worthy
a fate washing it was him
so everybody wanted to whisper and talk
about her
she took off years wages
cracked it open
and poured it on his feet

and we want you to pay tithes
this little dirty girl
like me
like you
decided that it was worth of everything
that I owned to be in his presence and
she started washing
his feet with her tears and drying them
with her hair because she knew that God
knew the way that she taken he was
trying her
but you’re in this room now

but as the mother of this house

moment and then I also asked our
spiritual daughter from La Brenda Palmer

going to share with us and so I just

without an introduction about what was
happening or anything she just moved
with freedom and I was in the spirit she
was

so good to be in the house of the Lord
tonight exciting we’ve already been
filled up amen
so I you might be asking who I am I am
nobody just a messenger but excited to
be here and fueled up by the power of
the Holy Spirit we’ve been in the Dallas
Fort Worth Metroplex since I was two
years old my parents started Covenant
Church when I was two years old and we
have had an opportunity to align and
join arms with the Jakes family and it
has been one of the honors of Our Lives
you know as a daughter
I’m often compared to my father as I
know Sarah is to hers
but what I do know is that
even though
the communication style may be very
similar to your father your mother is
the deep well
because I have that same testimony
and she’s a character oh my goodness
but she is a deep well and Sarah has the
lip of the container of the bucket that
withdraws that deep
deep substance is her father but
that depth comes from her mother
and the years of prayer and sacrifice
Stellar first lady
all over the world and I just want to
honor them and I’m so grateful tonight
to just have the opportunity to be with
sisters in the spirit
I want us to turn if we can for a moment
there’s a lot of stories in the Bible
about widows with a little bit of oil
but I’m going to take you to one for
just the next few moments
would I never ever want to take for
granted is that the exact combination of
spirits in this room may never happen on
this side of Eternity ever again so if
we are together in this room for this
moment and it’s the only opportunity
that I am ever given to shine my light
in your life I want to make sure that I
do that and honor the Lord with what he
has given me and I want to take you
right now to the story
from second Kings chapter four
and it says the wife of a man from the
company of the prophets cried out to
Elisha your servant my husband is dead
and you know that he revered the Lord
but now his creditor is coming to take
my two boys as his slaves
Elisha replied to her how can I help you
tell me what do you have in your house
your servant has nothing there at all
she said except a little oil
Elijah said go around and ask all your
neighbors for empty jars don’t ask for
just a few then go inside and shut the
door behind you and your sons pour oil
into all the jars and as each is filled
put it to one side she left him and
afterwards shut the door behind her and
her sons they brought the jars to her
and kept pouring when all the jars were
full she said to her son bring me
another one but he replied there is not
a jar left
then the oil stopped flowing
she went and told the man of God and he
said go and sell the oil and pay your
debts you and your sons can live on what
is left
this woman was the wife of the Prophet
Obadiah oh but I had been busy hiding
prophets away from Jezebel in the caves
to spare their lives so everything that
had once filled their Pantry to
abundance was taken and used to feed
God’s prophets to keep them alive for a
period of time so this woman had done
good but when she looked into her pantry
she only had a little bit of oil so her
situation was bad everybody say bad bad
it was bad bad it wasn’t just a little
bad it wasn’t a half full jar of oil it
was just a little tiny bit in fact it
was so little that her first answer to
his question was I don’t have anything
at all
that’s how bad it was
and what you need to recognize about oil
in the Old Testament and even in the new
in ancient times oil was like liquid
gold
because the oil was not just used how
you and I use it at Carrabba’s where we
dip our bread in and we enjoy I’m gonna
make everybody hungry here tonight
and it’s not just the shea moisture the
argan oil that we put into our hair
oil was used to take care of the
physical body but that was not the
primary or even first use you know when
I went to Israel I learned this and I
encourage you to go if you ever have an
opportunity to go because the Bible just
comes alive but I learned this in Israel
when I saw an olive press is they said
that when you would get your abundant of
Olives after your Harvest you’d pile
them up on this press and the stone
would go over one time crushing these
olives that was the first press that’s
what they call extra virgin
olive oil
and the very first pressing of this
olive oil went first to Worship in the
temple it would light the the table of
show bread on the lamp stand it would
light up the the all the outer courts of
the Tabernacle and then the temple so
the olive oil was first in that pressing
supposed to go to Worship in the second
pressing when it went around the second
time lots of oil came out and that’s
called virgin olive oil
and when the virgin oil would come out
it was the most expressive part of the
pressing they would take that home and
that’s the oil that tasted the best
that’s the oil that they would use for
anointing themselves for their flock I
don’t know if you know this but the word
anointing is not a it’s not a churchy
word it started first as a shepherd’s
word
it wasn’t even a kingly word
and when Shepherds would have their
sheep and they would anoint with oil
they’d pour oil over the top of each one
of their sheep and they would rub it
into the ears of the sheep and all the
way down the front legs and the reason
they would do this they would anoint a
sheep that belonged to them was because
the greatest enemy
to a shepherd’s flock was not a lion or
a bear it was a parasite that would
crawl up from the front of its legs and
the goal of this parasite would to be to
get all the way into the ears of the
sheep burrowing into the brain and
causing the Sheep to go mad
so when a Shepherd would pull a sheep
between his legs and pour the Horn of
oil over his head and work it into the
ears the goal was to get oil in the ears
to block out the enemy
the anointing and oil was symbolic with
preservation or protection they didn’t
have Bath and Body Works back in the day
so if they were getting a little ashy
they used oil so the second pressing of
oil was for personal health and and
hygiene and anointing and then that
third pressing there were three kinds of
oil first for worship second for your
own strength and health and vitality and
for your anointing for your preservation
and the third kind of oil
was for your lamp
it was for your life it was it was the
grainy oil it was the oil that had
little bits of seed and pit in it and
pith and that was the oil that they used
to Flame they didn’t want to use the
tasteful oil the tasty oil for that but
listen when you were running out of oil
the first thing to go was your light
when you didn’t have very much oil you
were going to save it for worship and
you’re going to save it for yourself
so the first thing to go would be your
light see this is why I know so many
times in the body of Christ what happens
is we have an opportunity to use the
anointing that God gives us in those
three same ways today
we can use it first for worship when we
are pressed the Bible says we are
pressed but not crushed persecuted but
not abandoned and when we are pressed we
have the opportunity that whatever comes
out of that pressing first should be our
worship it should be words that glorify
God
don’t skimp on that
let the first thing that comes out of
your mouth be a declaration of Praise
And so when that happens then we worship
and then the second type of oil we take
home with us for anointing is to take
care of ourselves see this is what I see
happen so many times this is why we see
people there’s scandal in the body of
Christ because what happens is they
choose people say you know what I’d
rather have my light
than have my health
so I’m going to steal all the anointing
I should be pouring on myself and my
children and my family and my marriage
and I’m going to put it into my life
because I want to create a bigger light
so I can draw more people to me and see
that’s the problem with the ideal of not
dispensing the anointing in the proper
ration is to go my ratio should be first
to worship and then to take care of my
own wholeness and then out of the
Overflow of that wholeness I have a
light that leads people to Jesus
not that just illuminates the disease
of myself
so this woman she was running out of oil
she had very little oil left so what did
he do he instructed her to borrow empty
vessels
he said you got a little bit of
something we can work with that but what
I want you to do right now is I want you
to go collect emptiness
see you and I our design and our idea is
we want to skip the hard part we want to
fix it when God
wants to fill it
we want to skip it when God wants to
bless it we want to subtract it when God
wants to multiply it
I can tell you I’m a living walking
poster child for this word
I had cancer breast cancer in 2011.
it came back with a vengeance in 2022
January 2020 I mean
it wasn’t just y’all’s worst year it was
my worst year
and when it came back I found out that
it was stage four it was in my lungs it
was in my liver it was in my bones my
pelvis my spine all the way down
everywhere except my brain
and see in that moment
if I hadn’t in the pressing times of my
life
captured the oil and understood that God
was for me and not against me that his
plan for me was to preserve me and to
sustain me
see I wanted to pray God let me skip
that process
I don’t want to be a Texas Salmon’s
cancer every 21 days but I am
and I’ll tell you this I’m told I’ll be
the rest of my life and I could right
now say father I don’t ever want to have
to do that again but you know what would
happen if I ever did that I wouldn’t be
walking the Halls as a light every 21
days saying I’m here to collect empty
vessels who else has a need that I can
gather up together because this this
multiplication is not just about me this
miracle is not just about me
I want to borrow your cancer story
so what I do now is I make the rounds
and I say I’m here to collect
empty vessels who else has a need
besides me
because I know when God multiplies the
little that I have his goal is to bless
this community not just my own household
but how contrary is that for us to
believe
that God loves emptiness
something we have something we
hate we hate blanks that we can’t fill
in we hate things that we can’t manage
well let me tell you this Ephesians 3 20
says now unto him who is able to do
immeasurably more than you could ask or
Imagine by the power at work within us
he’s called us to immeasurably more
and this is the next instruction that
the prophet gave this woman he said this
you borrow the empty vessels all that
you can find you know when he started
multiplying the oil gods are doing that
we know she probably wished she would
have asked everybody in the neighborhood
she had what she had
but his instruction was clear he said I
want you to borrow not few but many
and then what did he say he said I want
you to close the door and pour
why close the door
close the door because people peeping in
that are not invested in this miracle of
multiplication
don’t get to throw out their POV
we don’t want to hear what you think
about this because see a pantry is a
personal thing
when you open up vulnerability your
pantry and say this is all I got God
then the people that are there for the
miracle in your life make sure they’re
intercessors make sure they have faith
make sure they’re invested in the
outcome

you know how daunting that would have
been to lift a little vial that had just
a little enough to coat the bottom and
yet have a living room full of empty
jars
the ratio how much Faith would that take
to begin pouring over a vessel This Tall
from a vessel this small
and the last thing that Prophet knew
that she needed was a neighbor a nosy
neighbor looking in bringing their
measuring cup to her miracle
somebody say don’t bring your measuring
cup to my miracle

I don’t need your opinion about God can
do who am I to deny what the Lord can do
who am I
so she opened up her living room full it
said it stopped flowing with oil the
moment the empty situations were filled
I hope this encourages you tonight to
see situations in your story differently
than you did when you came in
I know this for a fact
that God has honored me to walk the
halls of Texas Sammons Cancer Center
he’s honored me to be able to walk in
there and my testimony was this when I
first began to go through chemotherapy
and they told me you’re going to go
through treatment for the rest of your
life
when I walked in there my Declaration
was
Amy you’re not going to look sick you’re
not going to act sick you’re not going
to be sick
so every 21 days my commitment is I
dress to the nines when I show up
and I walk in that waiting room
and I’ve been going there for three
years now and you know almost every time
one of the people at the desk say you
know only sick people can be in this
waiting room
only patients can wait here
I remember looking at one lady and I
said have you seen my CT scan
how do you know I’m not a patient
and you know what they say to me you
don’t look sick you don’t act sick
I say you just answered my prayer right
now
because when I thought I just had a
little bit left
God’s allowed me to gather up empty jars
cancer diagnosis is now my collection
because if God’s Gonna pour it out on me
I want it to cover my community
it’s not just about you and I tonight
but listen this is what the holy spirit
is saying right now
is your light is the first thing to go
that’s why the enemy comes after it
and anointing should go so far to be a
light so that you and I can carry the
light
but we can’t carry the light when we’re
covered in disease because we are not
taking care of ourselves
I believe I’m speaking to somebody
tonight
that is discouraged
and you could say I just only have a
little bit left
see women I we’re
we are the strongest on the planet and
we keep striving to hold it all together
but there comes a point When God Says
Your Surrender
will sustain your shine
Your Surrender is the key to being
filled
being vulnerable and open up your pantry
tonight and say God I’ve got a lot of
needs I got a lot of empty situations
I’ve got a lot of blanks
but I need you to fill me up tonight
look in my pantry what do I have left
maybe just a tiny bit of Hope left right

message Father I thank you right now for
the outpouring of Hope and peace and joy
that comes with anointing in the name of
Jesus I thank you Father that you cover
us from the top of our head to the souls
of our feet that you prepare a table
before us in the presence of our enemies
and God I thank you right now that
you’re going to make these children of
light collectors of empty situations so
that we can see the outpouring of your
spirit on All Flesh in Jesus name amen

is popping y’all
all right I’m you know talk about the
Holy Spirit right because Amy my mom’s
name is also Kathy so I’m also baby
Kathy and then you started talking about
a widow and I said oh Lord do we got the
same story
so you talked about Elisha in the Widow
and I want to shine the light on uh the
Widow of Zara path in Elijah
um she’s a hero of mine let’s go to
First Kings 17.
it’s crazy up here but who am I to deny
what the Lord can do who am I
all right I’ll start at verse eight
um just just to give you a little
context when we pull up to this
scripture what’s happening is in Israel
they’re in a famine right now a
god-induced famine actually because they
chose to be unfaithful and serve another
God so you know how Beyonce says world
stopped She wasn’t the first one to do
that God said rain stop and put them in
a famine
and so they’re in a famine and Elijah
has just been fed by Brooke but then the
brook dried up so God said all right go
to this place and there’s going to be a
widow there and I’ve instructed her to
feed you and that’s where we are in the
text right now y’all ready all right
cool let’s go uh
so she goes to the Village when he pulls
up
uh would you please he so he went to
zeropath I’m at verse 10 as he arrived
at the gates of the village he saw a
widow Gathering sticks
and he asked her would you please bring
me a little water in a cup
as she was going to get it he called to
her and said bring me a bite of bread
too I want to pause because I wanted to
know why it was important to know that
she was gathering sticks
and then I thought about the fact that
sticks are usually fragments on the
ground that were once attached to a
thing that was alive
and she’s Gathering sticks in
preparation for something let’s keep
reading I just want you to hold on to
that okay y’all got it okay put it in
your pocket
um bring me a bite of as she was going
to get it he called to her bring me a
bite of bread too but she said
I swear by the Lord your God that I
don’t have a single piece of bread in
that house and I have only a handful of
flour left in a jar and a little cooking
oil in the bottom of the jug she said
bro I don’t got it okay get somebody
else to do it I was just Gathering a few
sticks
to cook this last meal and then my son
and I will die
it’s interesting because you can hear in
her tone that
at one point she was probably on the
road to life and Destiny very determined
and then that determination over time
when life hit
maybe turned into desperation like I
gotta keep going
but sometimes when life hits desperation
causes us to settle in defeat
so she’s Gathering sticks
fragments of what once was something
alive and she’s preparing to die
and it’s interesting because that could
be some of us in this room we came here
with our sticks like hey if I don’t I
don’t really got what I need I’m at my
Wit’s End and I’m just waiting to die
and maybe not literally maybe maybe
you’ve been hurt in a relationship and
all you got is sticks left of it and you
like man I’m just meant to be alone
and you you’ve gathered sticks and
you’ve prepared to die and then somebody
rolls up on you when you ain’t got and
ask you can you give them something
it makes no sense
she like sir you came to me I don’t have
it for you I don’t I don’t have it y’all
with me
I’m gonna just take this with me because
I can’t I can’t be still sorry all right
but Elijah said to her
Don’t Be Afraid go ahead and do just
what you said but make a little bread
for me first
then use what’s left to prepare a meal
for yourself and your son
for this is what the Lord the god of
Israel says there will always
be flower and olive oil left in your
containers until the time when the Lord
sends rain and crops again
so the Widow has an opportunity here
to either serve the narrative that her
circumstance has presented to her which
says this is the end or she can serve
what God Said
because the thing about a word
When God Says something it gotta happen
but you think it happened when Elijah
said the word
but God said go to that gate because
I’ve instructed a widow to serve you
the moment God told Elijah to go to the
gate everything in the earth got to
serve that word

the widows circumstance has to serve the
fact that Elijah needs to be fed so you
think what you’re going through is so
you can be messed up no it’s serving a
word that God spoke over your life
[Music]

I gotta sit down I ain’t got that much
time
here’s the other thing about the story
because I don’t got time to read it all
Elijah says go and do what you was
already gonna do
with what you already had
in her hands
it wasn’t enough
in God’s hands it was more than enough
they ate and they ate and they ate and
they ate again and they kept eating
so so so
I I I want you to think about what’s in
your hands
and and I want to think about what
you’ve been holding in your hands that
God’s asking you to release so he can
multiply it
in your hands it wasn’t enough
I I I’m about to die this ain’t even
enough to last me past this meal in
God’s hand they had meals with an s
if you keep reading the story
they keep eating
and then her son
he gets sick
and he dies
and Elijah said Lord you didn’t brought
me to This Woman’s house you didn’t fed
us and you just gonna let the boy die
what is that
my Bible says
and God shall supply
oh
even the needs you are unaware of
because if she hadn’t served her fear
and not fed Elijah he wouldn’t have been
there to partner with the Lord for the
miracle she didn’t know she needed
you looking at your situation for what
you can see God’s in your today and your
tomorrow
and he already
you worried about what you gonna eat
he’s talking about Destiny and purpose
and the next thing and you I I got I
because what if she would have said nah
bruh I ain’t got it you you got to go to
the next house not knowing that her son
was gonna die
soon I ask you
you you gonna serve your fear
or you’re going to serve your faith
[Applause]
because because here’s the thing
she already didn’t have enough
so so why not give it up
she could lose
if you’re gonna die you’re gonna die
so so I I rather die following a word
from the Lord because he got it he gotta
make it happen like if he says it it’s
not a lie he ain’t like us he don’t lie
he
can’t lie
so
when he said what he said he meant it
not just her even you
So In This Moment
I need you to just think to yourself
tell yourself I’m going to allow my
faith in God’s word to outshine the lie
that fear has told me about my
circumstances because God has the final
say I don’t care what it looks like I
don’t care what it seems like I don’t
care what they said the only thing that
matters and the only thing that is true
is what God said about you
and he says I have more than enough
Pastor Amy just told us he could do
exceededly abundantly above all we could
ask or think you can’t even think better
than what God can do with this what’s in
your hands

so instead of gathering sticks
to make your last meal
I want to challenge you to gather sticks
to build an altar
[Applause]
because some of you are holding on to
something
that has the ability to unlock the hand
of God over your life
she didn’t even know what she needed
but there was
a command and a call for her to release
and for some of us that’s our pain and
our trauma because it’s keeping you from
the thing that God has planned for you
and it’s time for you to release
I’m done I don’t know what people do
when they’re done but I’m done

I want to pray

speaking of release
in February
I walked away from my full-time job
to become a missionary evangelist I
don’t know what we call it these days
I’m just out here following the Lord
I’m only sharing that to be a testament
because to me it felt like releasing
stability
but the only stable thing is a word from
the Lord
[Applause]
and so I want to pray
a prayer of impartation
that you would have the faith and the
courage to release
because you can trust God with it and
you can trust him with you
I haven’t missed a meal
I haven’t been on more planes in the
last five months than I have been in my
entire life
and I’m just a little girl from the west
side of Chicago that God decided to use
and I pray that my life is a testament
to what happens when you just say hey
God you can have a whole of me
and so if you can lift your hands all
over this room with the knowledge of
what this means
it means I’m releasing what I thought it
should look like what I had planned it
means I release relationships that I’m
attached to that gotta let me go it
means I’m releasing the little mindset
of even how I see myself God give every
woman with their hands lifted your
perspective of them God you saw them
before the beginning of time and there
was a way that you created them God we
speak to that version of them and we
call it out in the mighty name of Jesus
God I speak to the thing that’s buried
on the inside of them that has been
lying dormant God we Stir It Up and we
call it out in the mighty name of Jesus
God I thank you for every woman’s hand
that is lifted in this room God that he
would give her the courage to obey God
that she would tune her ears to your
lips and as she hears what it is that
you’re saying to her God that she would
obey and Obey quickly
God I silence Every Lie of the enemy
that would tell them they’re not worth
it and they’re not good enough and that
their life is not worth living if they
have breath in their body God it means
you have need of them so God I thank you
for every woman in her hand lifted God I
pray a burden of whatever it is that you
place on their lives God that it would
burden them until they move in Jesus
name God I pray that there would be an
Awakening on the inside of them not just
for how you see them but even how they
see you God show them new depths of Who
You Are God unlock unlock Visions unlike
uh the mysteries of Who You Are God that
would carry them into the assignment
that you’ve called them into
God I thank you that every woman’s hand
lifted has made the decision to allow
her faith to outshine her fears in Jesus
name we pray amen
