The author of “He Speaks To Me,” as she explains how we can learn about the character of God from other believers.

and I was really really impacted by one

of the sentences that was so simple in

the in the book even you said it’s like

we have cut off part of Christ by

amputating a piece of the body and

saying we’re not gonna have anything to

do with them

like we cut off part of Christ I really

believe we have cut ourselves off from

him by cutting ourselves off from them

right do you think that’s part of

staying out of the Promised Land life

when you’re absolutely absolutely

because I think that as amazing as any

one church body is every Church has its

weakness

every Church has its strengths and when

we let the totality of our experience

with God in that one Church determined

the the totality of God himself then

we’re missing out on on some of himself

that he wants us to experience so we

tend to put God in a box in that box

within that box is our own experience of

God what we’ve been taught through our

church our denomination and all of that

is good stuff and there’s no problem

with having the box the problem is when

you dare to put a lid on the box and

assume that anything that God wants to

do that is outside of your box is not

God then that means you have put

yourself in a position to be unaware of

God’s activity and the fullness of all

that God would want to give to you and

so yeah we’ve got to stand on the truth

of God’s Word and I want to be clear

about that I’m not saying that we allow

our foundations to be shaken ever we

stand on the truth of God’s Word yet at

the same time we’ve got to have open

hearts and open minds and open eyes to

see what it is that the Spirit of God

might want to teach us about himself

that is different than what we are used

to in our own local bodies
