Is it possible for a Christian to lose his or her salvation? Those who say that it’s certainly possible point readily to the warning in Hebrews 6 as Bible proof. But what is Hebrews 6 really all about? Who are the people being warned here? Joseph Prince tackles these questions head on in this exciting message and sheds light on this controversial topic. This must-hear message will help you determine whether you live life with your eternal security hanging in the balance, or with your heart fully assured that heaven is your home.
This question that begs an answer, is a question
that many earnest souls alright?
Sincere believers have battled with.
Whenever they hear grace…
Many people are sincere, they ask the question,
“What about this verse?
What about this passage?”
So I want to touch on this passage, preach
on it, and free you from all the stumbling
blocks.
You know one of my ministries is to dissolve
doubts you know.
If you read Daniel’s gift, one of… Daniel
in the bible.
One of Daniel’s gift is dissolving of doubts.
And I prayed that many years ago.
I don’t know why that particular phrase “dissolving
of doubts”…
The king said of Daniel, “Dissolving of doubts
is in you.”
He’s able to dissolve doubts alright?
It’s a gift.
So I asked God for the gift many years ago.
Alright?
And I enjoy seeing believers have their doubts
dissolved.
Amen?
Their obstacles removed.
Amen?
And all the stumbling blocks taken out of
the way.
Ok?
So today we are going to remove this big stumbling
block that has caused sincere souls to be
stumbled.
Amen.
And it is this question, “What about Hebrews
6?”
How many heard that question before?
Wave.
What about Hebrews 6?
Ok just wave, don’t be shy.
Just wave.
What about Hebrews 6?
Alright?
You read Hebrews 6 and you are wondering,
“What is going on?”
Alright let’s read Hebrews 6 first, and then
you will understand what’s going on alright,
as we go on.
For it is impossible for those who were once
enlightened, keep the word “impossible” in
mind ok, it is impossible for those who were
once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly
gift, and have become partakers of the Holy
Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God
and the powers of the age to come, if they
shall fall away, it is impossible to renew
them again to repentance.
That’s the idea there.
Ok?
Since they crucify again for themselves the
Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
It’s impossible to renew them to repentance. Now
there must be an answer here because whatever
it is we must be consistent with scripture.
Let me tell you this
All scriptures are profitable.
Alright?
Don’t be afraid of passages that seems abit
obscure alright?
And don’t shun them, wait on the Lord because
all Scripture is designed to build you up,
to strengthen you, to comfort you.
There are Scriptures.. these are Scriptures
of warning Amen?
But these warning we can learn from it as
well, but don’t forget we must always interpret
Scripture by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
It’s the Holy Spirit that teaches us all things
Amen.
We don’t run to this teacher, this leader,
that man whatever and we go to the Word of
God, we let the Holy Spirit show us.
Down through the years, I’ve had this brought
up to me and I just kind of wished that I had
more time to elaborate and finally I said,
“I just got to make time on a Sunday to do
this.”
Amen?
It’s going to help answer lots of questions
and if you are not familiar with this passage
let me you this, whatever arguments and whatever
divine reasonings we are going to bring up
ok?
During this course of teaching, you’re going
to prepare yourself to answer some questions
that other believers may ask you.
Amen?
In a way, New Creation Church, whether we
call it or not, we are actually a school.
(Amen)
This church you know, many of you, you come
every Sunday.
You don’t realise you are in school.
Amen, we are in the school of the Holy Spirit,
and the things that you learn many a times
alright, the only thing is that we don’t give
you long long long assignments, essays and
all that for you to fill in.
Amen?
The result is that lives transform, God has
ordained by the foolishness of preaching to
“sozo”
It’s amazing, God has ordained that by the
foolishness of preaching…
All of Heaven’s goods that Jesus purchased
for us, is all at the disposal of God’s people
via, through the means of, preaching Amen?
For example the Bible says, “Did you receive
the Holy Spirit?
Galatians 3.
Did you receive the Holy Spirit by the works
of the law, by works, “ergon” in Greek.
Effort.
Lots of effort.
Strenuous work.
By works of the law, or by the hearing of
faith?
Now many people will say works are more important
than hearing.
You don’t just hear and hear.
But the Bible says its by the hearing that
you receive the Holy Spirit.
Everybody that receives the Holy Spirit by
Paul’s ministry alright?
None of them were perfect.
None of them were people that kept the law
perfectly.
So Paul challenged them, “Did you receive
the Holy Spirit?
In other words, under my ministry,
because you kept all the law?
Or because of hearing of faith?”
Then the next question, “God that ministers
to you the Spirit, and works miracles among
you?”
How many want God to keep on working miracles
in your family?
In your life, in your career come on?
It says very clearly in Galatians 3 that God
that ministers, and the word “ministers” there
and working miracles is a constant.
It’s a present tense.
God that constantly ministers to you the Spirit
and constantly works miracles among you, does
God do it by your works of law or by the hearing
of faith?
It seems to indicate like without the hearing
of faith, God doesn’t supply.
God has limited Himself by the preaching of
the Word to supply His people.
