What you imagine may be more important than you realize. Ultimately, what you imagine determines what you believe, and how you believe determines how you receive. Having a positive imagination is what the Bible calls hope! And hope is what faith is based upon. Let Andrew share with you the true potential of your imagination in The Power of Imagination! You’ve probably heard Andrew quote Proverbs 23:7a, which says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Now let him show you how to think properly so you can be all that God created you to be! Welcome to our Friday’s broadcast of the
Gospel truth today is the end of my
teaching on the power of imagination
this book is 175 page book and it goes
into more detail and covers some things
that I haven’t dealt with in these two
weeks of teaching and so this teaching
that I’ve done here the last two weeks
on television is not completely
reflected in there there’s more in here
but today is going to be my last day and
so I encourage you to please get this
book we’re asking for a donation of any
amount for that we’ll give away tens of
thousands of
those and if you could not or would not
send anything to get the book we’ve got
this little booklet that is just a
50-page summary of This Book and we’re
giving that away as a free gift and then
we have teaching from one of my
conferences that I did on this subject
of imagination and we have a USB that
has the audio and the video on it and
today is my last day to offer these
products here on television man I’ve
covered so much material there’s no way
I can go back through all of that but I
was talking about Abraham yesterday and
using him as an example and one of the
points that I’ve made this week is that
a positive imagination is what the Bible
calls hope and there’s many scriptures
like Hebrews chapter 8 that hope is a
anchor of the soul that enters right
into the holy of holies and keep Keeps
Us anchored and and fixed to the things
of God hope is a powerful force and so I
haven’t done a complete teaching on this
by any means but I have shown that a
positive imagination is what the Bible
calls hope and uh here in Romans chapter
4 it talks about that Abraham against
hope believed in hope that he might
become the father of many nations
according to that which was spoken so
shall thy seed be and I use Genesis 15
where God had to bring Abraham outside
of the tent so that he could look up and
count the stars and he gave him a
visible uh uh presence of what his seed
was going to be like and each one of us
have ceilings or things that block us
from seeing our full potential and God
has to bring us out of that small
thinking and out of this wrong thinking
to get us to look up and to see what our
full potential is so we talked about all
of that and it says in verse 21 Romans
4:21 and being fully persuaded that what
he had promised he was able to perform
and therefore it was imputed unto him
for righteousness notice that Abraham
was fully persuaded there’s a difference
between being persuaded and being fully
persuaded there are some of you that are
persuaded that God is good that God
heals that God prospers that God loves
you but you aren’t fully persuaded and
you’re still susceptible to doubt and
when circumstances look contrary to the
promises of God many people just cave
and they let what they see taste here
smelling field dominate them and it goes
on to say now it it’s not written for
his sake alone but it that it was
imputed unto him but for us also to whom
it shall be imputed if we believe on him
that raised up Jesus our lord from the
dead and other words it wasn’t just for
Abraham’s sake that these things were
written but we’re supposed to learn
through them it’s says over in 1
Corinthians 10:
6-1 it says that all of the things that
happened to the Old Testament saints
were written for our learning so that we
through them might learn not to murmur
not to complain not to commit adultery
and things like this but sad to say most
people aren’t benefiting from what the
word of God is teaching us they have to
learn everything through hard knocks
there’s a better way there’s a better
way and you can learn it through the
word and this is what I often say about
our Caris Bible College that it’s a
better way I’m taking the things that
I’ve learned through hard knocks and all
of our other instructors we’re taking
not only the good but also the negative
things that we did and the things that
we learned through our mistakes and
we’re sharing them with people and it’s
keeping a lot of people from making the
same mistakes over here in uh Hebrews
chap 11 is still talking about Abraham
and I used this verse earlier in the
teaching but in Hebrews 11:15 it says
and truly if they had been mindful of
that country from which they came out
they might have had opportunity to have
returned and man that is one of the most
important things that God ever showed me
that you cannot be tempted with
something that you haven’t thought or
that you haven’t meditated on or you
haven’t seen you can’t go anywhere in
your physical body that you haven’t
already been in your imagination
man that’s a great truth and I’ve
already taught on that in verse 16 it
says but now they desire talking about
Abraham and Sarah desire a better
country that is a Heavenly wherefore God
is not ashamed to be called their God
for he hath prepared for them a city by
faith Abraham when he was tried offered
up Isaac and he that had received the
promises offered up his only begotten
son remember back in this same chapter
Hebrews 11:1 I was teaching that faith
is the substance of things hoped for
Faith gives substance to things that are
hoped for and it’s evidence of things
not seen and I was teaching that hope is
like a thermostat that turns faith on
and off and you can’t have faith unless
you first of all have a hope which is a
positive imagination if you can’t see
yourself doing something well then your
faith won’t act acate to bring it to
pass if you can’t see yourself
healed well if you well let me say it
this way that you you’re going to be
seeing something and if you aren’t
seeing yourself healed well then you’re
going to see yourself stuck where you
are or getting worse or something like
that if you don’t use your imagination
in a positive way to see yourself heal
well then it’s going to be working
against you your imagination is going to
work you just get to pick whether it’s
going to be positive or negative whether
it’s going to be unbelief and doubt and
fear or whether it’s going to be what
the Bible calls Hope and Faith brings
things that are hoped for into reality
so put that back here in Hebrews chap 11
and in verse uh 17 by faith Abraham when
he was tried offered up Isaac and he
that received the promises offered up
his only begotten son it says he did it
by faith and faith is activated through
hope so Abraham had to have a positive
imag imagination and let me just say
some things here stick with me for a
second if you can get this it’ll help
you but if you could imagine that you
had been believing for your entire life
for a son and yet you couldn’t have
children and at a hundred years old you
finally get this son and then when that
son is about 17 years old God tells you
to sacrifice him and this was your only
hope of ever having this promise of your
seed being as numerous as the stars or
as numerous as the grains of sand you
were going to take that person that
everything was hinging upon and you were
going to sacrifice them to the Lord now
I don’t totally understand all of these
things I can say that I don’t believe
God is leading a single one of us ever
ever to sacrifice our children but I do
believe we ought to be willing to give
up anything for the Lord and I believe
that that’s what the Lord was doing
matter of fact it says that Abraham was
testing did God was just seeing what his
level of devotion and trust in God was
and so in Genesis chapter 22 is where
the Lord told Abraham to go sacrifice
his son and so he rose up early in the
morning you know I saw a movie one time
that was a Biblical movie and it was
talking about this God speaking to
Abraham and telling him to sacrifice his
son and it shows Abraham going through
the ruins of Sodom and gor Mor
everything was you know burnt and and um
it was just a devastated area and it
showed Abraham going along and just
screaming out and hitting a wall and
crying out no God anything but
Isaac and that would probably be most
people’s reaction and so that’s what
they were depicting but what does the
scripture say it says when the Lord told
him to do that in verse three it says
Abraham rose up early in the morning and
sat L his ass and took two of his
servants with him and Isaac his son and
clav the wood for the burnt offering and
Rose up and went unto the place which
God had told him this doesn’t show that
Abraham was struggling with this and
dragging his feet he rose up early in
the morning to go do what God told him
to do and look at this next verse it
says then on the third day Abraham
lifted up his eyes and saw the place of
far off and Abram said unto his young
men abide ye here with the ass and I and
the lad will go Yonder and worship and
come again to you he said we are going
to go and come again he didn’t say we
are going and I am coming
back in other words here I am saying
that your faith only appropriates what
you’ve already seen in your heart
Abraham knew God had told him that
through that son Isaac that he was going
to have children as numerous as the
stars in the sky or the sand on the
seashore and so when he went to offer
his son he never saw his son dead let me
just prove that to you here in Hebrews
chapter
11 and let me read this verse I’ve
already read in verse 17 by faith
Abraham when he was tried offered up
Isaac and he that had received the
promises offered up his only begotten
son of whom it was said that in Isaac
shall thy seed be called accounting the
word accounting means this is what he
was thinking that God was able to raise
him up even from the dead from whence
also he received him in a figure so this
tells you what he was thinking most of
us again I don’t believe that God’s
going to lead any of us to kill one of
our children I don’t really believe that
he was leading Abraham to do it but he
was wanting to see if he was willing to
do it to what degree his uh commitment
was and when when he told him to offer
his son it says that he told the
servants we will go and we will come
again and this says that he accounted
this is what he was thinking that if God
has to he’s going to raise this boy from
the dead Abraham never saw Isaac dead
that’s his imagination he saw Isaac
living He Saw Isaac as the promised seed
he saw
Isaac was going to have children that
would be as numerous as the stars in the
sky and sand on the seashore that’s what
he was seeing that’s what this is saying
his imagination he couldn’t be
tempted with something that he hadn’t
thought he never thought of Isaac as
being
dead boy that’s powerful you know there
was a time in my life where I was just
reading all of this and I was saying God
would I be willing to do what Abraham
was willing to do and again I don’t
really believe that God ever intended
Abraham to kill Isaac but he did tell
him to do it to see if he would be
willing to do it and of course for those
of you that aren’t familiar with the
rest of the story there was a ram that
was called in the thicket and right as
Abraham raised his knife to slay his own
son and make him a sacrifice the Lord
stopped him called unto him in an
audible voice and told him not to do it
and he looked and there was a ram caught
by his horns and the thicket and he
loosed his son and he sacrificed the
lamb and the Lord told Abram Abraham he
says now because you’ve done this thing
I know that that you would do anything
for me and he says in blessing I’m going
to bless you uh and so anyway it was a
great promise that he gave him but my
point is that if God had asked me to do
that I was thinking God could I do what
Abraham did and so I begin to think
about it meditate on it which if you
heard my teaching in Psalms 1:2 and
Psalms 2:1 to meditate is to
imagine and as I begin to imagine would
I be able to offer one of my sons as I
thought about it I just came to a place
where God I don’t think I could do it
and I got to asking the Lord why it says
what we have is greater than what
Abraham had Abraham was actually looking
forward to our day and wondering what
God had promised the people but that he
didn’t have we what we have is better if
what I have is better how come I
wouldn’t be able to do what Abraham did
and the Lord spoke to me and he says
it’s because when I thought about would
I be willing to sacrifice a son I
thought about what would it be like to
go back and tell jimie I sacrificed my
son because God told me to do it boy I
thought of the negative reaction I
thought of the police coming Afters I
thought of the grief of losing a son I
thought of my son as dead and and
because of that I couldn’t even imagine
doing it but see Abraham it tells you
what he was thinking he was accounting
that God was going to raise him from the
dead if necessary he never saw Isaac
dead and because he had that image stuck
in his head he knew that this was the
promised seed and that God had promised
him Isaac was the one who was going to
live at this time Isaac wasn’t even
married Isaac didn’t have any children
and so he had to live for God’s word to
come to pass he had to live and he just
figured that if God had to he’d raise
Isaac from the dead he never saw Isaac
dead and according to uh Hebrews chapter
11:1 15 you can’t be tempted with what
you don’t think so he was never tempted
to disbelieve God the way that I was
because I thought about all the
negatives associated with it I tried to
imagine what it would be like to kill my
own son and I was thinking that he was
still dead see Abraham never thought
that way and because of it he was able
to go through and do what God told him
to
do boy there’s a great lesson in this
and it really goes right along with what
I’m teaching about your
imagination if God tells you to do
something you have to see yourself doing
it God has told me to build out this
Bible College it’s going to take a
billion dollars or somewhere around
there I I see myself doing that I see
all of these buildings coming to pass I
see people’s lives being changed God has
spoken a lot of other things to me too
and I won’t take time to enumerate them
all but I believe that there’s some of
the biggest things that God has ever
spoken to me are still on the horizon
and I am in the process right now of
just spending time taking the promises
of God and the things that God has
spoken to me and I’m seeing things come
to
pass
and there’s a lot of people that they
know that God wants to do something good
in their life you know it says in
Jeremiah chapter 29:1 I know the
thoughts that I think toward you says
the Lord thoughts of peace and not of
evil to give you an expected end the NIV
says a hope in a future there are many
of you that know that scripture and you
believe that God has something good for
you but you allow yourself to see the
negative you allow yourself to see
yourself failing
you see other people that have the same
sickness that you have and you look at
them and think well man I’m believing
for a healing but you know what this is
incurable and this is where I’m going
this is what’s going to happen in my
life and you see yourself that way you
let other people impose these images
upon you and yet you want something
different but you don’t see anything
different it doesn’t work that way
you’re going to have to change the image
that’s on the inside of you and and
that’s what
imagination is all about I’m not talking
about fantasy where you just pick
anything that you want I’m talking about
you get a word from God a seed from God
1 Peter 1:23 being born again not a
corruptible seed but of Incorruptible by
the word of God that lives and abides
forever and so you take that
Incorruptible seed this Revelation from
god of what your life is all about and
what God wants you to be and you put
that seed in your heart and you start
seeing that seed spring up and produce
the results that God wants in your life
that is not wasted time it’s
important you know there’s a man Peter
Daniels who is a multi-millionaire and
he Char I don’t even know if he’s still
alive it’s been a long time since I’ve
heard about him but he used to charge
$100,000 per hour to speak and he
started out as a bum on on the street he
was homeless and anyway God has changed
him and the things that God has taught
him he goes and shares it with other
people and Peter Daniel says that he
takes one day a week and he shuts down
everything he won’t meet with anybody he
won’t do any business he takes one day a
week just to dream just to
think and some people would ridicule
that and say man just think what you
could do if you were to work every
single day out of the week you would do
less than if you were to activate your
imagination I’m telling you seeing
things with your heart is never wasted
time matter of fact Jamie and I you know
when we take a week off or something
like that and when I’m truly off not at
home still working from home but when I
go someplace and we are just totally
unplugged and I’m just sitting here
worshiping the Lord and thinking about
God I nearly always come back with
Revelation something that God has shown
me matter of fact my staff has actually
made jokes about this every time I take
time off they they build themsel up that
when Andrew gets back he’s going to have
four or five things that he wants to
start doing and they talk about this
often and it’s happened so regularly
that uh I actually wonder why I don’t
take more time off because I mean God
shows me things you can get so busy just
occupying and maintaining where you are
that you don’t spend time to dream and
think about the future
I’m telling you your imagination is
powerful you need to spend more time
imagining not fantasy not your own
thoughts but what God plants in your
heart you need to water those seeds you
need to spend time seeing those things
come to pass in your life and I tell you
if you would do that it’ll never be
wasted time it will just transform you
and so today is going to be my last day
to teach teach on this I haven’t got
time to go into it but on January the
31st
2002 the Lord spoke to me from Psalm
78:41 and told me I was limiting him by
my small thinking and there was a number
of ways I was doing it but one of them
was in this area of imagination I knew
what God wanted me to do I was headed in
that direction but I was heading at a
snail’s pace and a lot of it was because
I wouldn’t let myself see me doing all
of the things that I knew that God
wanted me to do it’s not that I didn’t
want it but I just was occupied with
things there was numerous reasons behind
it but the bottom line is I needed to
start seeing things so we were in the
process of building out a building in
Colorado Springs at that time and it was
going to cost $3.2 million to finish out
that building and there was just no way
in the natural it was against hope that
I would ever get that done debt-free but
what I did I had my Builder put tape
down on the on the concrete floor and
where the doors were where the windows
were all these kind of things and I
would spend hours walking through that
building trying to picture and see what
that building would look like and I
never stepped over the tape every time
there was a wall supposed to be there I
would go over to where the door was and
I’d walk through the door and act like I
was opening the door I put
uh five gallon buckets down with plywood
on top of it and in a dark Auditorium
nobody in there I preached just like
there was a thousand people in there I
was trying to see this come to pass and
I knew that if I could ever see it in my
heart then it would come to pass in the
physical and sure enough I the more I
did that the clearer the vision got and
within 14 months we had that $3.2
million come in and we did did that
thing debt-free at the at that time that
was the greatest miracle that I’d ever
seen and I guarantee you this
imagination was a big part of
it I want to thank you for watching our
YouTube channel and the programs that we
have available and I want to encourage
you that you can get the materials that
we’ve offered also I’d like to encourage
you to like our program and subscribe to
what we’re doing we have a lot of
material and I believe it’ll be a real
blessing to you so thank you for being a
part of it God bless
[Music]
